The Daily CHEW™
Moving God’s love from head to heart for Christian professionals
There was a reality about Wednesday afternoon that had nothing to do with your calendar. Christ was praying for you throughout the day, like He does every day for you.
You were not holding the day up. He was praying you through it.
That is the sentence that changes everything about how you meet the next hour.
C.H.E.W. with Me
C — Clarity — Someone else was holding it
Hebrews says it in a way that should never stop landing. “He is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them” (Hebrews 7:25). Always. Not sometimes. Not when you are performing well. Always.
The Christian executive who thinks the day depends on their attention is not wrong about the pressure. They are wrong about the mechanism. Someone else is holding it.
Right now, at this exact moment, Jesus is at the right hand of the Father, and He is praying for you by name.
H — Hear — He always lives to make intercession

The verse that has softened my Thursdays is John 17:23. “Loved them even as you loved me” (John 17:23). Notice who prayed that. Jesus. Notice who He was praying for. You. Notice when. In the hour before He gave His life.
If He prayed for you then, He is praying for you now. That is what always means.
The 2 o’clock hour is not a moment you have to survive alone. It is a moment Christ is already interceding through, from a chair you are not sitting in but that has your name on the prayer.
Worth Sharing

E — Exchange — Because He is praying now

Because God’s love for you is Christ praying for you at this exact moment, how does that change what you are carrying into the next hour?
Because He is interceding, the decision I have been paralyzed on is not one I am carrying alone. It is being carried by the One who knows what I do not.
Because He is interceding, the anxious loop I woke up in this morning is not the loudest voice in the room. Someone is speaking on my behalf louder.
Because He is interceding, the trial that has felt endless is not endless. There is a name being spoken over it at the right hand of the Father that outweighs mine.
That is not sentiment. That is Hebrews. He always lives to make intercession. You do not.
Because Christ is praying for you at this exact hour, what would you release today if you actually believed He was already praying you through it?
W — Walk — The 2 o’clock as your anchor
Anchor time: 2 p.m. Set the timer if you have to.
When it buzzes, stop for thirty seconds. Say the verse. Ask the question. Because He is praying for me right now, what am I holding that He has already brought before the Father?
You will be surprised how much of what you thought was yours to grind through is actually being carried in a place you cannot see.
What is the anchor time in your Thursday where you could receive that He is interceding for you, so the rest of the afternoon runs on His prayer instead of yours?
With you on the journey,
Ryan
