The Daily CHEW™
Moving God’s Love from Head to Heart for Christian Professionals
You know how to stay busy. You execute, move projects forward, and clear your to‑do list. But if you’re honest, long stretches of thinking time can feel wasteful, like they are slowing you down instead of moving you ahead. Yet when a group of twelve high‑performing Directors I worked with slowed down to think and see around corners, they didn’t lose their edge; they elevated it as they moved toward VP roles.
Confess
Lord, I confess that I often equate value with visible output and speed. I admit that I can treat deep thinking and Spirit‑led planning as a luxury instead of part of faithful stewardship.
Hear
“Teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom.” Psalm 90:12, ESV
God reshapes your pace not to weaken performance but to give you a wiser heart, so your execution lines up with His purposes, not just your inbox.
Exchange
If I really believed God’s love is wise, patient, and actively ordering my steps, how would that change the way I treat unhurried thinking and strategic planning this week?
Walk
Block one 60–90 minute window in the next seven days for quiet, focused thinking about where God may be calling you to be in five years, then ask, “Lord, where do You want me to focus?” and capture the top three insights or shifts you notice. If this is the only thing I do from this CHEW today, it is enough.
With you on the journey,
Ryan
