The Daily CHEW™
CHEW on God’s Love. Live Transformed. Multiply Hope.

Last week, a VP at a fast-paced tech company shared something honest with me. After a demanding project meeting, he sat at his desk feeling determined—yet strangely alone. Even with years of high performance and a deep commitment to supporting his team, he found himself asking: Why does leading well sometimes feel so isolating? And is there a healthier way to build strong results and real connection at the same time? For many high-achieving Christian leaders, this tension is all too common. But it’s also a starting point for change.

Maybe you face it too: the unseen ache for trust and belonging on your team, or the awkward tension before a difficult conversation. Maybe you want more than just polished efficiency—maybe you long for deep, grace-filled connection even when things get messy.

Behind the drive for achievement and recognition, there’s a deeper craving: unconditional love—God’s love, present and steady before any results. Our culture promises fulfillment through striving, but only God’s compassion truly satisfies that longing for acceptance and peace. When Christ’s love drives our empathy, our excellence becomes personal, redemptive, alive.

Join me now, no preparation needed—let’s CHEW together.

CHEW in 3–5 Minutes: Compassion Beyond Conflict

Take three deep breaths—ask for God’s steady love before your next meeting, tough talk, or moment of workplace tension.

Adore:
“Father, thank you for loving me and every colleague—before we ever resolve a conflict or perform well. Your compassion meets us in our mess, not just our achievements.”

Confess:
“I admit I often protect myself, close off, or judge others quickly when work gets hard. Where am I withholding empathy that You’ve freely given? Where does impatience or self-focus rob me of seeing others as loved?”

Hear:
“What truth anchors me in grace and reopens my heart?”

  • “Be kind and compassionate to one another.” (Ephesians 4:32)
  • “Bear one another’s burdens.” (Galatians 6:2)
  • “Let each of you look not only to his own interests.” (Philippians 2:4)

Exchange:
If I really believed God’s love is patient, abundant, and always present, how would that change the way I approach tough conversations, misunderstandings, or moments when empathy feels costly?

  • I would exchange impatience for understanding.
  • I would trade withdrawal for listening.
  • I would let moments of tension become opportunities for care, not conflict.

Walk:
This week, I’ll pause and ask a colleague, “How are you—really?” I’ll listen and offer grace—anchored in God’s love, not my performance.

Thanksgiving & Worship:
Thank you, God, for meeting each of us with mercy. Refocus my heart on Your kindness in every conversation, conflict, and collaboration.

Remember This
Real growth takes time. Every honest return to God’s love is a win. God delights in presence and trust, not perfection.

CHEW On This™:
Set a time later today to revisit the Exchange question: “If I really believed God’s love is patient, abundant, and always present, how would that change the way I approach tough conversations, misunderstandings, or moments when empathy feels costly?” Notice what different answers emerge and if pursuing new answers helps God’s love move a little deeper from your head to your heart.
