The Daily CHEW™
Chew on God’s Love. Live Transformed. Multiply Hope.
There are days when my routine and resolve feel strong, but somewhere in the middle, old patterns surface—performance, striving, moments when significance or security take over. It’s easy to slip back into autopilot, especially when life gets hectic or the pressure rises. More and more, I’m learning that what actually resets my heart isn’t willpower—it’s returning, intentionally and honestly, to the Gospel through the CHEW rhythm.
The CHEW practice isn’t a complicated formula; it’s a simple daily rhythm to get God’s love from head to heart, especially in the moments life hits a snag or a longing flares up. You don’t need perfect circumstances to engage; all it takes is a pause, a willingness to be real, and the invitation to let God speak into your story.
Confess: Father, I admit where I’m living from old scripts—trying to prove myself, earn love, or find security through my efforts. The gap between knowing Your love and living it is real, and I bring my honest need before You.
Hear: Into that place, I listen for Your voice through the Gospel: “You are precious in my eyes and honored, and I love you” (Isaiah 43:4). “If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation” (2 Corinthians 5:17). Your message isn’t “try harder,” but “rest in what’s already finished.”
Exchange: I release the habit of striving for worth, trading my self-reliance for trust in Your unwavering love. I’m choosing to turn from old scripts—performance, approval, anxiety—to Your promise that in Christ, my identity and hope are secure.
Walk: Today, instead of powering through, I’ll pause whenever I notice the urge to hustle or prove myself. Maybe that means taking a slow walk, praying with open hands, reflecting on Scripture, or naming my longing aloud. I want to practice openness—not perfection—and step forward in your grace.
A daily Gospel reset through CHEW isn’t about grand gestures; it’s about returning, again and again, to the transformative love of God in concrete, ordinary moments. Each time I pause to confess, hear, exchange, and walk, I experience a little more freedom, a little more hope, and a life anchored in grace—not just effort.
Before you start stacking this new rhythm, I encourage you: try the Core CHEW question for yourself this week. Ask, If I really believed that God loves me as much as He loves Jesus (John 17:23), what would change in me right now? Start with this simple, atomic habit—take the 7-day Core CHEW challenge, or visit the New to CHEWing? page to get started.
CHEW On This™
If I really believed God’s love is as personal, powerful, and committed as Scripture promises, how would that change my habits, reactions, or area where I most long for healing or growth today?
