The Daily CHEW™
Moving God’s Love from Head to Heart for Christian Professionals
About six months ago, I started practicing CHEW—not with a physical journal, but by typing out my reflections, recording them on my phone, or speaking them silently in my mind throughout the day. Sometimes, I create custom CHEW questions for clients facing specific challenges. More recently, I’ve begun using secure AI tools to help clients and myself ask better questions and go deeper, faster. But a crucial foundation guides everything we do: Scripture, not AI, is always our standard of truth.
How Can AI Help You CHEW—Safely and Effectively?
1. AI as Your Prompt Partner
- Get fresh CHEW questions on demand. Stuck in your process? Ask AI to help you craft Adore, Confess, Hear, Exchange, or Walk prompts tailored to your struggle, emotion, or circumstance.
- Apply Scripture wisely—not just “generically.” You can ask AI, “What verse would apply to a Christian in this situation?” — but always double-check that it’s grounded clearly in Scripture.
2. Flexible CHEWing: Your Way, Your Pace
- Type, speak, or think through CHEWs. Whether you prefer typing, voice recording, or silent, head-to-heart meditation, AI adapts to your style, not the other way around.
- Voice journal into your phone, and use AI for clarity. Ask it to summarize or help you see patterns over time—while you maintain control over what details are shared.
3. Moving from Beginner to All-Day CHEWer with Smart Prompts
- Beginner CHEWers: Focus only on the core CHEW question:
“If I really believed God loves me as much as He loves Jesus (John 17:23), what would change in me right now?”
Use AI to help revisit this question in new settings, or to suggest Bible passages on God’s love. - Intermediate CHEWers:
“If I really believed God loves me as much as He loves Jesus, how would that change [my struggle/longing]?”- Ask AI to tailor this question to your current fear, temptation, or stressful situation.
- Let AI suggest new angles or Scripture passages to bring this to life during the day.
- Advanced CHEWers:
“If I really believed God’s love is [truth about His character], how would that change [my struggle/longing]?”- Use AI to help you name a specific attribute of God and rewrite the question for every new challenge.
- Let AI help you track recurring patterns or blind spots so you can refine your Exchange practice.
4. Ask AI to Play “Gospel Coach”
- “I want you to ask me five questions a wise Christian counselor would, each one filtered through Scripture.”
- Easily create creative, coaching-style prompts—then check each by comparing to your understanding of God’s Word.
5. Train Others More Deeply—Faster
- Use AI to generate custom CHEW practice and reflection plans for groups or individuals:
- “Write me 7 daily CHEW questions for someone struggling with shame over their purpose at work.”
- “Help me design a 14-day head-to-heart CHEW challenge for anxiety.”
Crucial Safeguards: Security, Consent, and Scriptural Anchoring
- Security First:
At 1st Principle Group, we use Perplexity Max for its advanced data privacy, end-to-end encryption, and zero ad tracking. All information is de-identified and only processed with explicit client permission—no names, locations, or identifying events are ever shared with the AI. Your CHEW details are more private and protected than with almost any other digital tool available. - Scripture is Always the Filter:
Every AI-suggested prompt, insight, or suggestion is always filtered through the lens of Scripture. If it doesn’t line up with God’s Word, it doesn’t make it into your CHEWing—and it doesn’t shape our suggestions. The Bible, not technology, is the gold standard. - Transparency in Practice:
No AI in our workflow is a replacement for prayer, discernment, biblical counseling, group feedback, or the prompting of the Holy Spirit.
The Risks and Rewards of Using AI for Spiritual Growth
- AI Isn’t Infallible, and Can Get Scripture Wrong. Always check AI output against your Bible—especially if something seems “off” or flatters you in a way Scripture would never do.
- Client Details Stay Secure. We chose Perplexity Max because of the extremely high level of security built in at every layer—protecting your CHEW process, voice, and journal whenever you use AI for support.
- Community Remains Essential. Let AI prompt questions, spark ideas, and help with reflection—but bring your actual struggles and growing insights back to face-to-face community, trusted leaders, and Scripture for testing and encouragement.
CHEW On This™
If I really believed God could use even new technology—submitted to His Word—to help His love move from my head to my heart, how would I use AI as a tool (not as my spiritual guide) to support greater honesty, curiosity, and application of biblical truth?
Give AI a chance to prompt your next CHEW, but never stop comparing everything it suggests with Scripture and your growing understanding of God’s character and promises.
