The Daily CHEW™
CHEW on God’s Love. Live Transformed. Multiply Hope.

It’s evaluation week again. Whether in the office or around the kitchen table, most high-performers know what it’s like to have their contributions scrutinized, scored, and stacked against expectations. Even before a single number lands in the inbox, anxious thoughts can swirl: “Did I do enough? Will I be affirmed, or exposed?” Underneath every rating, there’s a deeper ache—the hope to belong and be valued, no matter what box is checked or comment attached.

Maybe Reviews Raise Old Fears

Maybe the ratings feel like more than just feedback. Maybe each comment reopens old wounds or questions about worth and identity, making it hard to separate performance from personhood. Maybe you strive for excellence not just to impress, but to steady a sense of belonging. This tension is real: when outcomes define self, peace and confidence seem fragile.

Gospel Truth in Evaluated Moments

But the Gospel brings a radically different scorecard. The truth is, God doesn’t tie love to metrics, praise, or outcomes. In Christ, affirmation is secure before any review is written—“You are my beloved; with you I am well pleased.” Resting in this is more than sentiment—it’s a practical reset: When affirmation flows from God’s verdict, feedback becomes information, not identity. Gospel truth means every review is an opportunity to grow, not a threat to worth.

Join Me for a CHEW™ Reset—Reclaiming Identity on Review Week

Let’s practice honest return and anchored confidence—receiving feedback as learners, not orphans.

CHEW in 3–5 Minutes: Confidence Beyond Scores

Take three deep breaths—remember that God’s unchanging love grounds you before reading, responding, or reacting to any rating.

Adore:
“Father, thank you for declaring my value before any achievement or score. You call me yours—fully loved here and now.”

Confess:
“I admit it’s hard not to tie worth to reviews. Anxiety or fear spill over, especially when feedback is unclear or disappointing. Where am I trusting a score more than the security you offer?”

Hear:
“What truth covers my insecurities and anchors my identity?”

  • “There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” (Romans 8:1)
  • “You are my beloved child; with you I am well pleased.” (Matthew 3:17)
  • “The Lord is my shepherd; I lack nothing.” (Psalm 23:1)

Exchange:
If I really believed God’s love matters more than any human score, how would that shift my reaction to feedback, praise, or critique?

  • I would exchange fear for peace.
  • I’d trade performance anxiety for confidence in being chosen.
  • I would let criticism become a tool for growth—not a threat to my core.

Walk:
What’s one way I’ll engage with my review or feedback this week—pausing, listening, asking for help, or celebrating progress—anchored in God’s love above all?

Thanksgiving & Worship:
Thank you, God, for securing my value and declaring my worth long before any evaluation. Center my heart on your kindness, not my checklist.

Remember This

No score can define what God already settled. Every honest step—every CHEW—is a win in His eyes. Growth is good, but grace is always greater.

CHEW On This™

Set a time later today to revisit the Exchange question: “If I really believed God’s love matters more than any human score, how would that shift my reaction to feedback, praise, or critique?” Notice what different answers emerge and if pursuing new answers helps God’s love move a little deeper from your head to your heart.

Community Invitation

Practice this CHEW before your next review or share it with your team or family. When Gospel truth sets the tone, feedback becomes fuel for vision instead of anxiety.
