Chew on God’s Love. Live Transformed. Multiply Hope.
What Builds Through CHEW:
Returning to God’s love, whether in weakness or joy, builds a foundation of trust—a secure place to stand and a well for gratitude, even when your circumstances shift.
Confess
In the last 24 hours, where did you experience a moment of unexpected encouragement, a spark of gratitude, or even deep relief? Name that gift honestly in God’s presence—enjoy it with the One who gives every good thing.
Hear
God’s love for me as His child is not rationed or reserved for hard days only. He is the source of every encouragement, every mercy, every good—small or large. Even in moments of pure delight or sudden relief, His affection is at the center, inviting me not to just “pass through,” but to pause, receive, and recognize: this, too, is His faithful, personal care. My Father rejoices with me and multiplies my gratitude, anchoring all celebration in His unwavering pursuit.
Exchange
If I really believed God’s love for me is generous and attentive, how would that change the way I receive today’s small joys or unexpected encouragements?
Example:
“If I really believed God’s love for me is generous and attentive, I’d slow down to truly savor that laugh with my child—seeing it as a direct reminder that I am cared for, not just lucky or strong. I’d let gratitude shape my outlook instead of rushing to the next thing.”
Walk
Today, as a point of practice, pause in an ordinary moment—when you notice comfort, beauty, or a smile—and breathe: “Known. Claimed. Loved by my Father.”
CHEW On This™: Let the Exchange question guide your reflection: “What could grow in me if I saw each joy as rooted in God’s attentive love?” Allow this pause to cultivate gratitude, and—if you’re able—share your thankfulness or a kind word with someone else, passing along what you’ve received.
Unique Gospel Perspective: God’s Joy in Our Joy
God’s love surprises not only by meeting us in need but by joining fully in our celebration. The world trains us to chase after good moments and quickly move on, fearing gratitude will make us complacent or naive. The truth: the Gospel reveals a God who delights when His children delight—whose love is never threatened by our happiness, but who’s the Author of it. Every good and perfect gift comes down from Him, and noticing this anchors our hearts in humble abundance, not self-made success. Even your laughter, your brief ease, the warmth of friendship—none are random; all are invitations back to the Giver.
Real Life Story
A teacher, usually weighed down after her classes, was surprised to feel deep contentment while grading a simple, thoughtful essay from a struggling student. Instead of brushing it off, she paused, thanked God for the small breakthrough, and let that gratitude overflow—affirming the student with sincere encouragement. Later, she realized it wasn’t just the student who was changed, but her own spirit that was lifted by naming God’s care in ordinary work.
Celebration
Today you named the good, not just the gap. Every moment of noticed joy is a step deeper—proof that God’s love re-roots us in both struggle and celebration. Even small returns matter.
Gratitude & Prayer
Father, thank You for being the source of every encouragement and joy. Keep my eyes open to Your generosity and root gratitude deep within me, so that my life overflows with kindness.
Today I give thanks for: __________ (write, whisper, or speak it—each one is received with delight).
