The Daily CHEW™
Chew on God’s Love. Live Transformed. Multiply Hope.
I’ll never forget my first real pressure test—working late on a project for a demanding client, deadlines closing in, my mind racing with what-ifs. In college, it was exams and job interviews; later, the stakes grew: critical decisions, big deals, people counting on me. Pressure always finds a way—regardless of skill, experience, or faith—and in those moments, strength felt so fragile, confidence worn thin. The story is universal: The question isn’t “how do I avoid pressure?” but “is there a strength that holds, even when everything else shakes?”
What Builds Through CHEW:
Returning daily to God’s love is how inner strength is forged—not by denying stress, but by rooting yourself where nothing can uproot you. Over time, even high-pressure moments become places you discover resilience that is deeper than your own effort.
Confess
Where have you felt the strain of pressure lately—worries about results, the weight of leadership, expectations at home, or the urge to keep it “all together”? Did you snap, doubt, or retreat when it seemed too much? Name that moment honestly before God, who isn’t shaken by your limits.
Hear
God’s love for me as His child remains the steady center no matter what or who is pressing in. My Father does not expect me to be unbreakable, but promises that His presence is my refuge and source of courage. Scripture anchors this truth:
“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” (Psalm 46:1)
Rather than demanding a flawless performance, God invites me to lean into the strength He provides, to rest in hands that hold me firm—even when my own resolve trembles.
Exchange
If I really believed God’s love for me is unshakeable and my true strength under pressure, how would it change how I show up—whether facing a high-stakes task, a tense relationship, or just a relentless day?
Example:
“If I really believed God’s love for me is unshakeable strength, I’d admit when help is needed, breathe before rushing into solutions, and trust that God’s approval is not on the line with each outcome—freeing me to act with courage, not just caution.”
Walk
As pressure ramps up today—before a tough call, during a moment of conflict, or when the responsibilities weigh heavy—pause. Breathe. Whisper: “Anchored. Strengthened. Secure in my Father.”
CHEW On This™: Choose one small act in the middle of stress: ask for help, take five minutes to clear your head, or give yourself permission to regroup. Let your move say, “My roots run deeper than this pressure.”
Unique Gospel Perspective: The Strength Beneath Our Weakness
The world battles stress with bravado or burnout, measuring strength by how much you can handle before cracking. The gospel flips the script: In Jesus, strength is not self-generated but received in relationship. It’s a refuge that doesn’t demand the absence of stress but guarantees the presence of God—who is both with you in the storm and unmoved by its chaos. Weakness isn’t the end; it’s the doorway to discovering how much you’re truly sustained, protected, and empowered by grace.
Celebration
Each honest attempt to face pressure as anchored, not driven, is hidden victory. Progress isn’t about perfect composure—it’s measured by every return to God’s steadying love, and every small step taken from security, not survival.
Gratitude & Prayer
Father, thank You for being my refuge, my strength, my steady ground when life’s pressures rise. Remind me today that courage is not earned but received—as I lean on Your unshakeable love.
Today I thank You for: ___________ (even small moments when strength was found in You).
