The Daily CHEW™
Chew on God’s Love. Live Transformed. Multiply Hope.
I still remember my first “big win”—a Spanish company paid me to write a marketing plan. When I saw that check, I was over the top with joy; it felt like the doors were opening. But as quickly as the impact hit, it faded. Years later I was running a Personal Consultancy company, mixing Christian counseling, coaching, and consulting for individuals and organizations. New deals were won, others lost. The thrill of a signature, the sting of a deal falling through—sometimes both in the same week. No matter how high the next win felt, the real question came back: Can anything I accomplish actually secure my worth?
What Builds Through CHEW:
Daily returning to God’s love reshapes what enduring success means. Over time, it’s not outcomes but unshakable purpose—and identity rooted in being claimed, not just accomplishments—that build lasting resilience.
Confess
Where this week have you chased after a “win”—at work, in relationships, in faith—and felt let down or empty even after success? Did anxiety linger after celebration, or did disappointment dig in when things didn’t go as planned? Name this, honestly, and bring it to the Father whose welcome precedes every victory or loss.
Hear
God’s love for me as His child isn’t dependent on wins, checked boxes, or the rise and fall of my reputation. He isn’t a distant evaluator, tallying my score. Instead, my Father calls me “beloved” before I ever succeed, and stays close when setbacks come. The invitation is clear in Scripture:
“Blessed is the one…like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither—whatever they do prospers.” (Psalm 1:3)
Lasting success is rooted not in outcome, but in the enduring presence and purpose God gives—anchored long after applause dies out.
Exchange
If I truly trusted God’s love is enduring and purpose-giving, regardless of outcomes, how would it change how I pursue success or respond to disappointment?
Example:
“If I really believed God’s love is enduring and purpose-giving, I’d pour my effort into the task at hand, celebrate wins, and grieve losses honestly—but I wouldn’t let either define my value or future. I’d return to God’s presence, knowing the legacy that lasts is being rooted, not just recognized.”
Walk
When you find yourself driven harder for achievement, or wrestling with a letdown, pause. Breathe. Whisper: “Rooted. Purposed. Secure in my Father.”
CHEW On This™: How can you work wholeheartedly—yet anchor your worth in God’s enduring love? End your day by listing one risk you took, one person you encouraged, and one small victory of faithfulness. Let gratitude for God’s steady presence outweigh the pull of today’s outcomes.
Unique Gospel Perspective: Success That Endures
The world’s version of success is short-lived—based on applause, recognition, metrics that always move. The gospel upends this: In Christ, you are secure before any win or loss. God does not measure your legacy by the height of your achievements, but by the depth of your roots in Him. Real victory is not a perfect streak; it’s a resilient heart that keeps returning to God’s love in every circumstance. Here, the victory no circumstance can steal is found—not in striving or the next deal, but in being steadfastly known and purposed by God.
Celebration
If you choose excellence and anchor in God’s love, that’s resilient success—regardless of results. Every honest return to security in Him builds a legacy that cannot be erased by loss or inflated by praise.
Gratitude & Prayer
Father, thank You for granting me purpose and resilience, for anchoring me in love stronger than any win or loss. Teach me to strive from Your calling, and anchor both my effort and my rest in success that lasts.
Today I thank You for: ___________ (even small signs, moments, or reminders of Your steadfastness).
