The Daily CHEW™
Chew on God’s Love. Live Transformed. Multiply Hope.

Back in my NYU days, hopping between projects and late-night library sessions, I was sure the next breakthrough would finally make me feel at home. Later, in Atlanta, chasing client wins, the longing to arrive never quite faded. Whether it was a new contract, a helping conversation, or an unexpected breakthrough, the “restless” feeling tagged along. I watched colleagues and friends do the same—always moving, always reaching for something just out of grasp. No matter the city or season, restlessness seemed built in, a backdrop for every pursuit. Where do you find true security when the world nudges you to keep searching for what’s next?

What Builds Through CHEW:
The daily rhythm of returning to God’s love grounds you in an identity deeper than accomplishment, change, or any outside circumstance. Over time, the pattern shifts: you find a quiet security that endures, even when the reasons for restlessness stack up.

Confess
When, lately, have you found yourself unsettled—maybe by a challenge at work, a transition at home, or a sense that nothing you do feels enough? Name that moment honestly. Bring it to the Father whose presence secures you, long before you root yourself in comfort or achievement.

Hear
God’s love for me as His child is the home my restlessness aches for. He isn’t distant or waiting for me to finally “get it together.” My Father stays close, offering security not in shifting circumstances, but in unwavering attention and welcome. His invitation echoes through Scripture:
“They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green.” (Jeremiah 17:8)
My security doesn’t depend on what I fix, win, or reach—it’s in being planted and nourished by God’s steady presence.

Exchange
If I truly believed God’s love is the source of my security—unchanging, always enough—how would that reshape where or how I look for stability when I feel restless?

Example:
“If I genuinely trusted God’s love as my anchor, I’d let go of the frantic need for answers when plans unravel. Instead, I’d pause, breathe, and lean into the certainty that my roots hold—even when the surface shakes.”

Walk
When restlessness rises—midday slump, tough news, or the quiet nudge of “not enough”—pause. Breathe. Whisper: “Rooted. Secure. Held by my Father.”
CHEW On This™: Make a conscious choice to stop chasing and start anchoring—take five silent minutes, journal a reminder of God’s attention, or intentionally thank God for the security that doesn’t depend on change or achievement.

Unique Gospel Perspective: The Freedom of Being Planted
Culture celebrates mobility, hustle, and the “journey”—but the Gospel promises the freedom of being planted. In Christ, your worth is not on trial. Security is not found in being right, ready, or more accomplished, but in belonging to the One who calls you His. The restless heart finds rest when it is sheltered and nourished by grace. Real life—lasting, vibrant, fruitful—emerges not from searching, but from being received, rooted, and continually watered by the unchanging love of God.

Celebration
Every time you choose to anchor your worth somewhere deeper than accomplishment, you claim true security. Pausing, praying, even admitting your restlessness is a step toward being genuinely planted—and that’s worth celebrating.

Gratitude & Prayer
Father, thank You for being my safe place and my root when the world keeps me moving and yearning for more. Teach me to rest—truly—in Your steady love and let my heart find security in being Yours.
Today I thank You for: ___________ (every glimpse of rootedness or calm).
