What’s Driving You? Using the SALVES Core Drivers Assessment with God’s Love at the Center

The Daily CHEW™
Moving God’s Love from Head to Heart for Christian Professionals

When What the Assessment Reveals Is What God Already Knew

Imagine starting the day not just with your calendar, but with a clear picture of what is actually driving you. The SALVES Core Drivers Assessment names six deep, God‑designed longings—Security, Acceptance, Love, Value, Enjoyment, and Significance—that quietly steer how you show up in meetings, decisions, and conversations. When you see your results, the temptation is to grade yourself: “These two are good; these two are problems.” But that is not how God sees them. God designed these drivers on purpose and is redeeming how they function in Christ. When you look at your SALVES results through the lens of God’s love instead of self‑judgment, you step into the day with more clarity, courage, and compassion—for yourself and for the people you lead.

Clarity

Today, your attention may slip into trying to manage perception or performance instead of recognizing what your primary drivers are actually craving. You might rush past your assessment results, treating them as a label instead of a lens God uses to grow you.

Hear

“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” (Ephesians 2:10, ESV) God declares that you are His crafted work, not an accident and not a collection of flaws to fix. Your Security, Acceptance, Love, Value, Enjoyment, and Significance drivers are threads in that workmanship—designed by God, bent by sin and suffering, and now being actively reshaped by His Spirit in Christ.

Exchange

If I really believed God’s love is a steady, wise craftsmanship that designed my core drivers on purpose, how would that change the way I read my SALVES results and walk into my next key decision today?

Walk (30–90 seconds)

Pull up your SALVES Core Drivers Assessment (or the summary you are deeply about [Security / Acceptance / Love / Value / Enjoyment / Significance]. Thank You that this longing is part of Your workmanship in me, not a flaw I need to erase.” Then ask, “Lord, how are You growing me through this driver today?” If this is the only thing I do from this CHEW todaylit is enough.

With you on the journey,
Ryan

If you had to put this into one sentence for today, what would you say God is inviting you to rest in or return to?
