CHEW on God’s Love. Live Transformed. Multiply Hope.
If you’re reading this, you may feel stuck, ashamed, or tired of fighting alone. You’re not alone—and you’re not beyond hope. Many have walked this road and found real freedom—not by willpower, but by letting God’s holy love meet them in the struggle, one day at a time.
The Gospel assures us that freedom from shame and addiction is not achieved by our own strength, but by God’s love, forgiveness, and power transforming us from the inside out—even in our weakest moments.
How to Use This Resource
- Grab a notebook or download the CHEW Questions Journal Page.
- After each section, pause and write out your answers. Don’t rush—let yourself go deep.
- When you run out of answers, ask a new CHEW question, ask a trusted friend, or look up what wise Christians say about your question.
- At the end, you’ll find a 7-Day CHEW Challenge and ways to connect with others for support.
Step 1: Get Honest About Your Struggle
- What triggers you to look at porn? (boredom, loneliness, stress, anger, curiosity, habit, etc.)
- What are you hoping porn will give you? (comfort, escape, excitement, affirmation, relief, control, etc.)
- What do you feel right after? (shame, numbness, regret, emptiness, self-hate, etc.)
Step 2: Identify the Core Need Beneath the Struggle
- What am I really longing for right now? (to feel loved, to belong, to be seen, to be known, to have peace, to feel alive)
- What lie am I tempted to believe about God or myself? (I’m dirty, I’ll never change, God is disappointed, I’m alone, I’m too broken)
Step 3: Match Your Struggle to a Characteristic of God’s Love
God’s love for you is:
- Forgiving and cleansing (1 John 1:9)
- Unconditional and steadfast (Romans 8:38–39)
- Present and personal (Hebrews 13:5)
- Transforming and powerful (2 Corinthians 3:18)
- Patient and gentle (Psalm 103:8)
- Delighting and affirming (Zephaniah 3:17)
Step 4: CHEW Questions for Porn Struggles
Write out your answers in detail—don’t stop until you can’t think of any more. When you run out, try a new question, ask a friend, or look up biblical resources.
