The Daily CHEW™

Chew on God’s Love. Live Transformed. Multiply Hope.

You sign in early for your next CHEW Group session on Zoom—a circle of trusted men, each in his own space, coffee or water in hand. The mood is expectant but relaxed: here, you know you don’t have to impress or hide. Across screens, one simple gift stands out as the heart of the group: the way brothers help each other uncover core beliefs—not by lecturing or fixing, but by listening, reflecting, and walking alongside each other in God’s love.

Why Group Reflection and Inquiry Matter

We all bring stories—some you hear out loud, some you glimpse in silence. Alone, old beliefs about our worth, competence, or belonging can stay buried for years. But in a trusted Zoom circle, patterns begin to surface, and the Gospel starts its healing work.

Steps to Help a Brother Discover His Core Beliefs

  • Notice Patterns:
As your brother shares, listen for words, themes, or emotions that resurface. Is he consistently downplaying his impact, shouldering blame, or expressing fear of not “measuring up”? Note anything that repeats—whether said with a laugh or with weight.
  • Reflect Back with Care:
Offer observations as an invitation, not a verdict. Say things like, “I’ve heard you mention a few times that you feel responsible for everyone’s happiness. Am I off?” or “Disappointment seems to keep showing up in your story—do you see that too?” That “Am I off?” phrase lets your brother clarify, correct, or confirm, helping both of you gently uncover deeper beliefs.
  • Ask Guiding Questions:
    Prompt honest reflection:
    • “What might that pattern say about what you believe about yourself or God?”
    • “Where do you think that story started for you?”
    • “If God’s love was shaping your response to that, what might be different?”
    • “What’s something new God could be inviting you to see or believe here?”
  • Support Without Judgment:
Your goal isn’t to diagnose or fix. Instead, create space where honesty and confession are met with curiosity, not solutions. Affirm his courage—it takes strength to name hard things, even through a screen.

Fostering the CHEW Group Ethos on Zoom

Whether miles apart or steps away:

  • Safety means no story is too messy and no confession is met with shame.
  • Confidentiality is honored—what’s shared here stays here.
  • God’s love is the group’s atmosphere: every reflection and question is given to root one another in Gospel truth, not expose weakness.
  • Strategic growth is our shared aim—honest discovery today builds freedom, leadership, and hope for all.

A Head-to-Heart Challenge

Helping a brother isn’t about having answers. It’s being present—listening, reflecting, supporting with real care. In Zoom groups where reflection and Gospel hope meet, old scripts lose power and new beliefs take root.

CHEW On This™
If I really believed God’s love makes this Zoom group a safe place for discovery and change, how would that shape the way I listen, reflect, and support my brothers as they explore their core beliefs?
