The Daily CHEW™
Moving God’s Love from Head to Heart for Christian Professionals
If you love well‑worn routines that produce effortless excellence, the question “How can I do this differently?” can feel risky. This month I’ve been working on my lowest EQ‑i 2.0 subscale—Flexibility—and God has been using real days and decisions to teach me where to experiment and where to stay rooted. A recent facilitation that the management team called “our best yet,” small diet shifts that finally stuck, and even rethinking how we structure The Daily CHEW all came as I held my calendar before God and asked where flexibility might actually serve my calling instead of undermining it. At the same time, He has clarified where I need familiar systems and unmovable anchors that keep me grounded in His love and moving at a wise pace.
Confess
Lord, I acknowledge that I often either cling too tightly to my routines or change things just to feel productive, instead of discerning with You where to flex and where to stay anchored.
Hear
“Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established” (Proverbs 16:3). As you entrust your work to God, He gives wise clarity about which experiments to pursue and which anchors to protect.
Exchange
If I really believed God’s love is wise and purposeful in how He orders my days, how would that change the way I choose one place to experiment and one place to remain steady this month?
Walk (30–90 seconds)
Open your calendar and create a simple two‑column note labeled “Experiment” and “Anchor.” Ask, “Father, where are You inviting me to try a new approach, and where are You asking me to stay rooted so I can serve well?” Circle one experiment, star one anchor, and commit both to Him. If this is the only thing I do from this CHEW today, it is enough.
With you on the journey,
Ryan
If you had to put this into one sentence for today, what would you say God is inviting you to rest in or return to?
